Fargo (1996)
When I watched Fargo, I found Marge so well written and developed that I wanted to cry! I fell in love with her simpleness and her adorable relationship with her husband. A real human, with strong and weak features like all of us!

Real Women Have Curves (2002)
A film about a woman who is threatened by life itself to be deprived from her rights as a human being and who also is stigmatized because of her weight, but she doesn't give up!

Happy-Go-Lucky (2008)
I adore Poppy! She is independent, happy and carefree, able to handle things on her own, she is interesting and honest!
ARThmhd's rating:
This movie deconstructs the motherly figure. Eva is a mother, but she is not the typical mother, she is a woman who wanted to continue her career, was not ready to be a mother, but it happened, and now she has to deal with the consequences. Not everyone is ready to be a mother, not everyone wants to be a parent and love the person came from their body necessarily and automatically. The pressure upon people to become parents (especially women to become mothers) because it's "in their nature" or it's "nature" in general, is look at by this film from a strange, yet harsh and eyeopening point of view.

(500) Days of Summer (2009)
As I see it, the problem with this character is that we see her only from Tom's point of view and we don't actually know anything about her, but I added her cause she is a strong woman, who shares her own opinion and from a quick glimpse in her apartment seemed a really interesting character, even if she is a manic pixie dream girl... oh well!

Strong and independent female characters (in my opinion)
