Death Stranding - PlayStation 4
What an weird experience. The gameplay is so repetitive as arte the small cutscenes (especially those that you have to watch as the game loads the BT's in for example) that you just contantly run into delivering packages. The fighting mechanics feel so much like MGS(big suprise there) so they can be bit clunky.I started the game with the hardest difficulty but I really didn't feel any hard until I played the first WW trench battle and the couldn't see the enemies because the guns in my back and the way the camera just acts in the tight space. So I just dropped the difficulty because I just wanted to experience the weirdness of the story and felt like the gameplay isn't that hard until it spikes at the clunky gunfights that I didn't really have outside the fights with Mads Mikkelsen. Those battleground set pieces are just epic. And the game overall might be visually speaking one of the best that I've ever played. The cutscenes and mo-cap/facial animations or capture are just done so perfectly in this game. When they get the long hair physics and better the lighting effects even further the uncanny valley isn't far off. I decided to finish the game this year and played all nighter to finish it. The ending ramped up everything and this was the weird experience that I was expecting from free from konami Kojima game, after seeing the first trailers and getting some info about the game. There's cheesy melodrama, action and actually just really great family drama. The performances are great (the cameos are so weird) and the story is just so Kojima it's perfect. The score is also just beautiful.

Longer time off from work so I got some time to play. Gave my old PS4 for my sister's kids as a present and bought a PS4 Pro for myself. After testing it with RDR 2 and Death Stranding this game felt like a great choice for first full playthrough. This was just fun Star Wars experience overall. It was hard (played it throught on the second hardest difficulty after almost losing my mind on Dathomir. Made a mistake and went there first when the map opened up. Then gave up literally on the last enemy and swithed planets :D) and at times I almost rage quitted. Also I added some difficulty to the game by not upgrading my stims at all. The game is beautiful and the score is beautiful too they really captured the John Williams feel for it but also it was a fresh new thing too. The characters are great additons to Star Wars lore and the story was good and enjoyable even thought nothing super fresh feeling.

The gameplay could've used some months to nicely polish it though I hated the camera, and jumping & climbing around = Uncharted style traversing. Because unlike in those games the it felt really awful and unresponsive. Let's just say the game made me curse a lot. The combat also felt bit unfair (I haven't played the Souls games so I compared to it to Witcher 3 on hardest difficulty. Which is hard but the combat also feels fair) at times and the awful camera didn't help at all. The way the enemies would snap target to you in mid-evade move was just... I did have to switch my combat playstyle to fit better. Also I saw so many t-poses and popping-in graphics while playing this so the game definitely still needs some updates to fix those. Even with those fixed the combat and traversing would be negative things in this game for me.

But overall this game was just fun Star Wars story, the lenght of the game was perfect and left me wanting more. There were really nice set pieces and the cutscenes were great.

Red Dead Redemption 2 - PlayStation 4
Started 2nd playthrough (never finished it).

*Bought PS4 Pro and started a new game to test it with my 4K TV. Ended up playing through the night so got like 9 hours in. I plan to finish the game this next winter-spring. I got so many games to finish before that though I ended up buying so many games and they are still in the plastic wraps (but the more I manage to forget RDR 2 the better... I think as it then feels like a "new" experience) Like Sekiro, Metro: Exodus, Nioh, Bloodborne, Days Gone, Outer Worlds... Also so, so many PS Plus
games... And all the new realeases in the spring of 2020.

Detroit: Become Human - PlayStation 4
Played through the game in one night. This is probably my new favorite Quantic Dream game. The action set pieces were really good and entertaining to watch and hit the QTEs every now and then. I also really liked how polished this game felt, I didn't have any technical issues during my playthrough. There were only few moments were the character models, especially their arms, would move weirdly.
The story was entertaining even if it really wasn't anything new or different. Especially the cop stuff has been done so many times already. As is the guerrilla resistance thing too. At times the story also was very hokey and David Cage-ish (freedom march-scene). The (voice)acting was pretty good and the character models were nice looking and the game overall was quite beautiful to look at. I chose the non-violent option and even thought there were less action it was fun way to play the game and towards the end it got pretty intense.
The choices actually changed things and thus mattered. And the choice tree was really extensive and impressive.

Some minuses:
There were weird moments were the clock started running and music got intense and you were supposed to hurry up but your character just couldn't be bothered to move faster. The dialogue options were also bothersome at times and you really can't tell what some of the options are before pressing them. I reloaded some scenes because the option would lead to something that I didn't mean to happen. Some punctuation marks or Bioware style icons would have been helpful.

Started playing the first game finally and the nostalgia hit hard. I got the first Crash with the first Playstation Christmas 1997 after my classmate accidentally dropped my NES. The remake is really pretty looking game. And hard. Finished the the first Crash not 100% through though. Didn't remember how the difficulty peaks after Pinstripe on the last island. I hadn't have any Game Overs before that but then had like 5 or 6 before finishing the game.

Started playing the remastered second game Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. Which I never owned and only played few times at my friend's home as a kid.

Rocket League - PlayStation 4
I like to play this every now and then but man, my skills are gone. And so seem to be every familiar player from the time I played Rocket League daily. It's still fun game to play.

FIFA 19 - PlayStation 4
Tried to start the Career Mode which has been my favorite for years now but got bored after few hours. Before the Ultimate Team EA actually made improvements to the mode and it was fun to play. The past few years the mode has been basically the same and playing it gets stale quite fast. I might stop buying the new FIFA now on because I've noticed that I don't play the game enough nowadays because they basically feel like roster updates and minor gameplay tweaks. Which is weird because I've owned FIFAs since 2001 (I had 99 but I bought it later from a sale) and only skipped one or two since 2015 or so.

Spider-Man - PlayStation 4
I played The City That Never Sleeps DLC that I got it from the PSN's January Sale. It was fun times and the DLC's story was interesting to play through. I also played the last missing crime side activity on the main game and got that platinum trophy.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey - PlayStation 4
60 hours in at the moment. Some notes so I don't forget about them before I reach the end of the game. This is probably my favorite AC game since Black Flag.
-I like both main characters. (played about 6 hours with Alexios before swapping) Kassandra's voice actor is better though.
-The world is really huge and really beautiful. But why is there like 20 faces for the people in it.
-You definitely get your money's worth with this with so much missions to do... Maybe little too much. I'm honestly starting to skip side stuff because there isn't that much variation in the missions.
-The loading screens. There is so many loading screens and they are long too. They kinda ruin the flow of the cut scenes (this isn't really a new thing for AC games).
-I've had 5 hard crashes, framerate drops to the point that its like 1 frame per second and stutters for a while.
-There have been moments were the character/ship just frozes for some time while everything runs normally.
-The critical assassination is pretty awful feature because it takes time to work and while the prompt fills small camera movement or target's movement ruins the fill up... and shitty things follow.
-I just don't like that the enemies level up with you. I'm level 47 or 48 (when level 50 is Demigod trophy-worth)now and to me it doesn't make sense to me that your average soldiers are still as hard to kill (well my skill level is higher but they take as much damage still) as in the beginning.
-The autosaving is just awful.

103,5 hours and I got the platinum trophy for the game. The repetition of the side missions started to really weigh down the overall rating and enjoyment. The main story was quite good and the gameplay felt also refreshing for the series. The side missions had some fun ones but so many of them were just too similar and really just blended together. The loading screens were also just awfully long and with the bad autosaving you really have to remember manually save if you don't want to play the same stuff over again. Overall I liked the game a lot but minor problems started to bother me while playing. I skipped some of the side missions because I just had no interest to play them.
