Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure... - PlayStation 2
Originally release but was later banned for glorification of graffiti
The Getaway - PlayStation 2
Original released uncut with a MA15+, it was later resubmitted with more content being deemed too much for the MA15+ rating. A censored version was later released.
Left 4 Dead 2 - Xbox 360
Refused classification as it failed to gain a MA15+ rating. An edited version with all mutilations and questionable acts taken out has been released. It should be noted that the game is now less violent the it's predecessor which was released with a MA15+.
Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude - PlayStation 2
Banned because of sexuality and nudity in relation to incentives and rewards.
Manhunt 2 - Nintendo Wii
Rockstar never submitted the game to the Australian rating board in fear of it been banned. My thoughts are due to Manhunt 1 getting banned Rockstar would have no chance with Manhunt 2 getting released in Australia even though it the game was edited.
John E.'s rating:

Soldier of Fortune: Payback - Xbox 360
Banned because of high impact violence involving dismemberment. Activision has since modified the game to meet MA15+ guidelines.
Manhunt - PC Games
Originally rated MA15+ but Federal Attorney-General Phil Ruddock later appealed the rating thus being banned afterwards because of high-impact violence and cruelty.
NecroVision - PC Games
Banned because of relentless gory violence. A censored version was later released with a lucrative M rating.
Singles: Flirt Up Your Life - PC Games
Banned because of sexuality and nudity in relation to incentives and rewards.
Postal 2 - PC Games
Banned because of gross, abhorrent content (urination, high impact violence, animal cruelty, homophobia, etc.)
Phantasmagoria - PC Games
Banned because of high impact violence, cruelty, and a scene of sexual violence involving rape. A censored version was later released.
I'm not from Australia but I'm glad the European PEGI system we have aren't that bad when rating games. I thought I'd make this list showing the banned or edited video games in Australia however the Australian rating system is poor 15+ is the highest rating put a 18+ on the ratings for god sake. This list also games modified to meet the Australian rating system.
