This year the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) launched a campaign to commemorate 50 years of its Red List. The Red List features the world’s most threatened and endangered species.

Street artist Louis Masai has also launched a street art campaign in London this week to tie into the Red List 50-year anniversary in conjunction with charity Synchronicity Earth.

Masaai has been creating murals on the streets of London to highlight species loss within the UK and posting them on Instagram to raise awareness. Artworks include a dragonfly in Bethnal Green, a lynx in Brick Lane, a common crane in Camden and also a hedgehog, stag beetle and house sparrow.

On Saturday the Biophilia Ball and auction, the biggest ever wildlife ball, is taking place at the Natural History Museum to raise funds for conservation charities.
