Simon Anthony Fox Ward (born: 19 Oct. 1941 – died: 20 July 2012).

Best known films: Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969), Young Winston (1972), The Three Musketeers (1973), Dracula (1974), The Four Musketeers (1974), All Creatures Great and Small (1975), Aces High (1976), Deadly Strangers (1976), The Four Feathers (1978), Zulu Dawn (1979), Supergirl (1984) and Wuthering Heights (1992) alongside his daughter Sophie Ward.

Best known TV: Sir Monty Everard in Judge John Deed (2003-07) and Bishop Gardiner in The Tudors (2009-10).

He also appeared as Maxwell Hamilton in medical drama series Heartbeat (2006) playing real-life daughter Sophie Ward's estranged father.
