One of my favorite holidays, el Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a major Mexican holiday in which the spirits of the dead are said to return to visit loved ones. It also coincides with the migration of monarch butterflies. There is el Día de los Angelitos (Day of the Little Angels) on November 1, when the spirits of dead children return. Then on November 2 is el Día de Todos los Muertos (Day of All of the Dead).
These movies, at least partially, take place during the Day of the Dead.
