A Celebration of Female Beauty in Paintings
One thing I've noticed from female paintings is that males rarely are the subject matter. Male artists have always put the focus on women in all sorts of settings be it erotic, fantasy or oppressive. All done in the name of love, obsession and sympathy for the female sex, to the point where sometimes castigating their own gender is expedient. Aside from the works of Suzanne Valadon, objectified male bodies in female paintings are virtually non-existent. I don't deny that in other media women authors have been fascinated by men, especially erotic novels where female sexual aggression is salient. But I'd like to see more of this kind of fixation in the art world in the same way men since dawn have devoted all their time and energies to idolising and loving you. I would like to see some acknowledgement of our value in your eyes. The conditions are ripe to really express the side of you that is kept hidden.
