I finished reading Cosi in one day, however, this postmodern commentary's characters are humorous and its ideas are complex and fascinating. I don't regret reading it and I will enjoy analysing it this year.

A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Writings (Penguin Classics... - Charles Dickens
This immortal Christmas classic is too saccharine for my sensibilities, however, I enjoyed reading it and it appreciate its place in the pantheon of literary history.

Frankenstein (Vintage Classics) - Mary Shelley
Frankenstein is a masterpiece, pure and simple. It exists within a world of aching despair and personal pain, a world in which love, warmth and the insatiable desire to be socially accepted is scorned based on appearance. I fear that I am alone when I say that I identified with the Monster.

The Tall Man was initially an unengaging read, it was stagnating within a series of dry and tedious details before it made an impact on me and began examining some challenging philosophical questions.

Hamlet (Signet Classic Shakespeare) - William Shakespeare
Hamlet is a profound and haunting masterpiece of introspection, insight and self-examination. It attempts only to question the ultimately insignificant nature of human experience and the embedded human fear of death. Hamlet, both the character and the play, assumes an aura of mystery which explains why it continues to endure.

The Rip is a product of a man who didn't know what he was attempting to communicate. Robert Drewe's short stories are simply detailed meanderings through exposition which is obfuscated by his literary style. Drewe strips his story of any emotion and doesn't provide the reader with any insight. His stories are forgettable.
