Zootopia (2016)
Update: I bought Zootopia on Bluray and saw it again. It was even better the second time around. I picked up on little things that I missed and actually laughed more. This is a movie I will rewatch many times.
I cannot take credit for this description, but the best way to describe this film is noir for the whole family. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde were fantastic main characters. The scene at the DMV with the sloths was comedy gold, and the Yak's memory "loss" was a hoot and a half. I smell a sequel.

Eye in the Sky (2016)
I was left speechless after the movie. Thank God I'm not the one making decisions in war.
The Jungle Book (2016)
Simply breathtaking. Bill Murray steals the show as Baloo and the voicework for Shere Khan, Baghera, Kaa, and King Louie was superb. Probably the most visually appealing movie I have ever seen in 3D.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Fantastic movie, full of action and heart and repercussions. I am excited to see where this next phase of the MCU goes.
Deadpool (2016)
Finally... Ryan Reynolds becomes a bonafied star. Well deserved. I was worried this film would be too juvenile for my tastes, based on the trailers leading up to its release, but when I finally got around to seeing the film, it was much better than I ever imagined. This is how an origin story is made!
John Goodman was brilliant in this film. It had me guessing from beginning to end (and I love how bad ass some of the characters are. Well, one in particular, which I will not spoil for those who have yet to see it).
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016)
Not as good as the first, but still damn funny. I never knew Zac Efron could be this funny.
The Finest Hours (2016)
A great film from start to finish. Chris Pine puts on one helluva performance, and the storm scenes are downright menacing. This is why I will never be a sailor.
It will be interesting to see what the Ultimate Edition looks like. I did not think the movie was as bad as most people made it out to be, but it is also an incoherent mess, especially when compared to the awesomeness of Captain America Civil War.
The best damn movies of 2016 (thus far). Will likely change many times over the course of the year.
