Where can I find more information about Listal rules and Listal Moderation?

First of all, please do read the official Image posting rules and Listal's Terms of Service. More detailed explanations can be found in the Image rules list and in A guide to image reporting and deletion.

If you still have a doubt, you might find it was already discussed on the Listal Feedback board.

Are Listal rules translated into other languages?

Some translations by volunteers are provided to help users from all over the world who may not be familiar with the English language, but please note that only the English text contains the official rules by Listal's Admin.

Can't find a place to report really ugly, idiotic, pointless, insulting tags on profiles.

Spammers will be blocked as soon as possible, and their accounts will be deleted (actual deletion may take some time, though).

I reported an image but it's still there!

First off, please check the Rejected Issue Reports forum.

If your report was rejected you should find it there. Sometimes the reason for rejection is explained in a reply by a Moderator. Sometimes you just need to read the help pages about Image Rules (see the links above) to understand it!

One of the most frequent reasons for rejection, anyway, is that a reported "duplicate" is not really a duplicate. Keep in mind that a photo with no text on it is not considered an exact duplicate of the same image as published on a magazine with headlines, captions and so on.





Same goes for a photo with an autograph, that is different than the same photo with no signature on it.

Another possible reason for rejection is that it was a duplicate, yes, still you did not report it as a duplicate but you selected another report reason! This is not just nitpicking. When a pic is reported and deleted as "Duplicate", there are consequences, for instance the other image automatically replaces the duplicate in list "notes". So it is important that a duplicate is reported as a duplicate! :)

One more reason why a report is rejected is that you did not explain WHY you thing the item should be deleted, and the reason is not self-evident.

Sometimes a pic from a gallery is reported as invalid, that is to say it is not the person, or it is not the place, or it does not belong with that movie gallery, an so on, but that's not always easy to tell for someone who is not familiar with it.

In short, please provide enough detail in order to help Moderators understand where the problem lies!

An image I posted was deleted and I got a notification "Image was deleted for this reason: other", but I can't see the specific reason!

Actually, even when an image is reported as "Other", a specific reason for deletion is usually given. But, technically, Listal doesn't show the detailed reason to the user whose image is deleted. That's inconvenient, but that's the way it works.

However, a link is provided to Image posting rules, as the reason for deletion is a violation to some of the rules anyway.

Why was my image removed while a similar one is still on Listal?

Listal hosts hundreds of thousands of images. Moderators delete disallowed pics when such pics are reported by other users, or when they find them anyway, but not all the disallowed images can be found and removed. So it should not come as a surprise that some pics were deleted but some other pics of the same kind were not.

Besides, sometimes there is a reason why pic A was deleted and pic B was not, although they may look similar (but are actually not).

Example: the images of a model wearing a bikini or lingerie, like the pics below, are not against Listal rules.

But then, another "bikini" pic might be of the disallowed type if, say, the model was leaning forward and pointing her butt to the camera.
Also, any reference to an adult web site, in a tag or watermark, would be a no-no, even if the image itself was all chaste and pure!

What is the difference between Listal Moderators and Listal's Admin?

Listal Moderators, usually, are experienced users who chose to help the site. They can delete images not allowed by Listal rules and they can warn or even ban users who seem to ignore the rules. Generally, Moderators will help on the forums with explanations on how Listal works.

Listal's Administrator, on the other hand, is Listal's owner and chief programmer, Tom.
So, if you would like a new feature on Listal, or you are experiencing some issues, most times you had better ask Tom on the forums.
