True Romance (1993)
Tarantino's screenplay, Tony Scott's direction, and one of the greatest casts ever assembled! What else can you ask for?
Film Ninja's rating:
The Three Colors is pretty much the perfect trilogy. Each film is brilliant on its own, and yet they surprisingly link together in the end.

A strange Hollywood version of a Leone western. Every character is so tough and so badass, it reminds how miserable the world was without TV.

Top what? I decided to list all the 9 and 10 star rated movies (based on my own ratings) of each year instead of trying to make a list of exactly 10. Some years may have 1 and some may have 20 in the list. It depends on the amount of good movies I saw from that year - but even more it hopefully reflects the amount of decent movies that were actually made in a particular year.
I have included a small explanation for people who may not have heard of the film.
Lists will constantly change as I see more films.
