Cover Boy: Last Revolution (2006)
plot summary: an immigrant is having trouble finding work and he befriends someone that, unknowingly, developed feelings for him. He then meets a female photographer whom he develops a physical relationship with but he learns that the new life that she gives him isn't the life for him.
He learns the man he befriended committed suicide.
Very lovely drama, very depressing for me as a gay dude but eh, I liked this.

Girlfriend Boyfriend (2012)
I have probably watched brokeback mountain before this but this was the first major gay themed movie I watched. I realized that I best empathized much more with gay male characters so after watching this movie, I started to watch a bunch of other gay themed movies, good or bad.

Like Grains of Sand (1995)
one of the first asian gay themed movies I watched that has left an impression on me.
I related to the feelings of attraction and longing the gay teenager had.

The War Boys (2009)
the gay relationship... was nicely developed. They mixed the intimate scene annoyingly with the straight one as these bloody movies often do.
The serious drama went severely extreme at the end though. it was haunting.

Perfidy (2009)
hmm... what do I remember?
a man purchases a room a for a day or so and he does a number of weird lonely things inside it for about the first half of the film.
*major spoilers start*
he then enters another room and shoots the 2 people in the bed inside it.
other than this being a contract kill I think?, he apparently had a short one-sided relationship with the man as he intimiately stays close by his side for his last moments.
perhaps the first part could be cut in half, I felt feelings on the scenes following the murders.
interested me enough that I liked it and that I still remember it.

I'm So Excited! (2013)
I just have dumb thoughts on this one.
quite really focused on straight sex, some hints of gay sex, femablah sexualiblah.
I hated all the heterosexual bits which was...50%, the gay bits is about 25% but the men in the gay bits weren't unattractive so I can forgive this film a little for this.

It's All So Quiet (2013)
Date: June 2024
Been a while since I've watched a gay themed film.
Saying too much will likely be spoilers but this certainly has a gay aspect to it though often subtle.
Spoilers:
It hints that the protagonist does have an attraction to the other man his age he often sees. Perhaps, emphasis on perhaps, this attraction is mutual. The ending is optimistic which feels nice.
Overall, this isn't very dramatic. The story's pace is slow and requires a viewer to consume its story in small "sips".
SEVERE SPOILERS AHEAD.
The young farmhand, who looks like a teen, does attempt to be intimate, but thankfully, it is stopped. Perhaps the young man was seeking warmth inappropriately, as if he had a troubled past which lacked it. The protagonist gives this to him with a close embrace instead.
