Ken Norton was an American professional boxer who competed from 1967 to 1981, and held the WBC heavyweight title in 1978. He is best known for his fight trilogy with Muhammad Ali, in which Norton won the first by split decision, lost the second by split decision, and lost the final by a controversial unanimous decision. He also served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

People I find Inspiring (105 person items)

"Ken Norton was one of the greatest boxers of all time. What kept him from becoming immortal was the fact that his time was the golden era of the sport. Norton fought and won Ali and other greats of the era, but Ali was able to turn the tides in the following rematches. Norton's match with Larry Holmes is one of the all time greats, a serious contender for the best ever. Holmes managed to win by just 1 point and he later commented that the rest of his career was child's play compared to the match"
