John Paul "J. P." Calderon, born September 5, 1975 in Santa Monica, California, is an American professional volleyball player and model of Costa Rican descent.
Calderon is the youngest of two boys. His parents divorced when he was just a baby, and his upbringing is not one full of happy memories. But it’s from these imperfect childhood memories that he was able to become stronger.
Calderon grew up in Marina del Rey, California and attended California State University, Long Beach, where he played for the school's nationally-ranked men's volleyball team. He graduated with a degree in speech communication in 2000.
