Hugh Sheridan (born 1986) is an Australian actor, singer and performer who is best known for his role as Ben Rafter in the television series Packed to the Rafters.
Born in Adelaide, the second youngest of seven children, Sheridan grew up in the suburb of Millswood and completed his early years of schooling at Loreto College Marryatville before changing to Saint Ignatius' College. It was during primary school that he began his training at Unley Youth Theatre and Terry Simpson's studios in Adelaide before he went on to study Music at the Victorian College of the Arts and Dance at The Australian Ballet School.

He left the ABS when he was accepted into the prestigious Bachelor of Dramatic Art, Actor course at NIDA. While he was there he performed in The Lost Echo with The Sydney Theatre Company, and while still completing his final year won his role in Packed to the Rafters, along with co-star Jessica Marais.[1]
In 2007, Sheridan was awarded the Adele Koh Memorial Scholarship by The State Theatre Company of South Australia to study acting in New York.
In his youth he sang with State Opera Australia, played football for St Ignatius and studied drama at Unley Youth Theatre.
Sheridan was one of the many stars who performed at Sydney's Carols in the Domain on 20 December 2008. Sheridan sang "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
Sheridan is an Ambassador for new mens clothing label Flinders Lane, it is sold exclusively through Myer, he was a runway model in their 2010 Autumn/Winter show in Melbourne Fashion Week.
On Sunday 3 May 2009, Sheridan won an Australian TV Week Logie Award Silver Logie for Most Popular New Male talent, due to his performance on Channel 7's Packed to the Rafters. In June he performed his own one man show "Newley Discovered" on the Adelaide Festival Theatre Stage to packed houses and rave reviews. Sheridan is an active Ambassador of Jeans for Genes, Camp Quality and The Port Adelaide Football Club.
On 31 August 2009, Sheridan announced that he had signed a record deal with Sony Entertainment Music Australia. Recording took place in Sydney, New South Wales throughout 2009. He has written numerous songs over the year which will appeared on his debut album.
Sheridan performed his first single Just Can't Throw Us Away on Seven's Dancing With the Stars Season Finale on 6 September 2009. The song was released to iTunes 4 September 2009 and to radio September 7. His second single All About Me was released both physically and digitally October 30, 2009.
All About Me and Just Can't Throw Us Away have both ranked very well on the Australian ARIA Physical Charts, with All About Me securing position #6 on the third week of release.
Sheridan's debut album Speak Love was released in Australia on 27 November 2009.[2] The album has so far reached #86 on the Australian ARIA Album Chart, ~#10 on bandit.fm, ~#20 on iTunes, and hit #19 among Australian artist's albums in the first two days of release. The album received great reviews from various music critics.
In June 2010 a remixed version of the album's title track was released as Sheridan's third single. The music video has been released on iTunes.
