Super Mario Galaxy review

Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 3 February 2014 06:39

The one masterful achievement about this game is its intuitive gameplay that utilizes the Wii console, and the masterfully orchestrated soundtrack. It falls short from everything else that makes Super Mario 64 have incredible replay value, but still an excellent platformer nonetheless.

Super Mario Galaxy review

Simply put, Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best games I've ever played.

This was the first Mario game I played ever since I had a Nintendo 64. And it was also the first Mario game I ever completed. I feel so lucky to have this game.

The levels are well-crafted and the gameplay is a complete innovation. One of the problems Nintendo had to fix is the very controversial camera control. There were a lot of complains in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine about the camera being hard to control. In this game, the camera is fixed and you only see what you need to see.

Another feature I liked is the Star Spin, your new all-purpose move. With the help of his trusty Luma, Mario can remove obstacles, progress through the level or defeat enemies. It's pretty much the "hammer" of the game.

Now, I go for the characters. Mario is hero, obviously; I mean, his name is in the title. Princess Peach is everyone's favorite damsel in distress and Bowser is back being the villain and final boss. The newcomer for this game is the mysterious Rosalina, a space-traveling princess that helps you in the game. Because of her likable personality and sunny disposition, she is a very good addition to the cast.

To be honest, at first I didn't know if I should get this game because of his story-free nature. I wanted a game with developed characters and a big story, and we all know that Mario games don't have any of that. Of course, I ended giving this game a chance and I was glad I played it.

I hope everyone can enjoy this game as muh as I did. Thanks for reading.

Gamersean Wii Review #1 - Super Mario Galaxy

Posted : 12 years, 9 months ago on 13 August 2011 08:47

For my first Wii game review, I will be reviewing one of my favorite games for th Wii and one of my favorite games of all time, Super Mario Galaxy.

Gameplay: The platforming of Super Mario Galaxy is top-notch! There was never a moment where I got frustrated with the controls. The difficulty is really high though! This game is hard! The one thing that sets this game apart from others is the gravity element, never before had I had to think in ways I never though a video game could! Gameplay is flawless!

Graphics: They may not be HD, but the graphics of Mario Galaxy are the best for Wii! This game looks incredible! Besides the almost-HD graphics, the imagination and creativity put into every inch of this game is astonishing!

Story: This is a Mario game, so there really is no story, but what it does offer, is pretty darn epic and, at times, very emotional and heart-warming!

Overall: This is a near-perfect game! This is one of the greatest games ever made and is a must-buy for Wii owners!

Super Mario galaxy is hella tight. It's a very intense game. The only thing i hate is the fact that my baby brother always deletes mario after we completed a ton. It's very frustrating and i know it's just a game, but that game can take a bit of effort. Despite that it's a really fun game and easy after a while. I would recommend it. ^_^ Lol.

No reviews yet? For shame.

This is a really amazing game that will either make you marvel out loud about its ingenuity and beauty, or make you nauseous and yell at the tv. For me, a little bit of both.

I would compare this game to Mario 64 in terms of controls and the dizzying camera, but the rest of the game is so much more than that.

Typical strange Mario storyline about you traveling around to save the princess, but the fun is in the gameplay. Once you get used to the controls, it's a blast, beautiful to look at, and plenty of levels to go through with multiple layouts, and lots of missions to get your star collection. There's times where I breezed through the level, times where I just barely made it, and times where I said bad words at the game, the Wii, and all those associated with the production of the game.

But I still want to play it more, and get all those pesky stars...

By far the best game I've played on the Wii.

Super Mario Galaxy

Posted : 16 years, 4 months ago on 30 December 2007 08:26

Mario Galaxy is truly everything that is fun in videogames, rolled up onto one disc that simply everyone must own.

When Mario 64 invented the proper 3D platforming genre more than 10 years ago, what followed was a river of wannabe clones that didn't quite seem to get the point. Even the sequel to Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, didn't seem to get what made the original platformer so fun in the first place. It took Nintendo over a decade to reรฏnvent the genre, and with Galaxy it finaly did.

Instead of big, open worlds, in Galaxy the player is confronted with countless of smaller planets. This allows Nintendo to throw small idea after small idea at the player. The result is a game that never bores, it just simply keeps on giving. Where most games would present one good gameplay idea and build from that, it seems that in Galaxy there are tons and tons of ideas that are used for just one or two times, then get thrown away for something else that is at least as fun.

Galaxy is easy to play but hard to truly master, which is what makes any game great. Truly the reason to buy a Nintendo Wii. Platforming has never been this good.
