Star Wars: The Old Republic review

Posted : 9 years, 10 months ago on 5 July 2014 05:21

Despite my intense hatred of all things MMO, SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) is actually quite good. It offers a detailed and well-crafted storyline (at least as far as I've gotten), even though some missions can feel rather repetitive after a certain point.

Theres plenty of opportunity to try different things, species, classes, weapons, etc. And thankfully a monthly subscribtion is NOT required to play.

However, to get access to some of the cooler things in the game, you gotta pay, which is, of course, rediculous - ending up costing you as much as any other MMO out there. It is optional, however, since you don't really need to unlock the Twi'lek species or wear the best armor to get through the various missions.

In conclusion: SWTOR is not as big a con as other (I shan't name names) MMO games out there, but it is an MMO never the less, so one shouldn't be expecting to be dazzled by the graphics or storyline.
