"The first KoF to use the strikers system. Beginning of the NESTS saga. Also introduced the counter and armor system. Introduced K', Whip, Bao and others. Roster's a bit lacking, but good nonetheless, stages look incredible and music's great.This is here because it's basically KoF2000 but worse. Even movesets are better in 2000. Except stages and soundtrack are better so I can't place it much lower.  "
