Description: EVE Online is an online RPG which is set in a futuristic galaxy. The main focus of the game is open-ended space travel with combat, territorial control, trade, and politics. In the beginning of the game, you create your character, choosing one of the available empires and races (EVE has no classes, anyone can learn any skill), and customizing the way the character looks. Then you are given a space ship with which you can begin the exploration of the game world. One of your main goals in the game will be to upgrade your ship in order to be able to defeat space pirates and other players. Most items in the galaxy are player-made, a EVE Online is an online RPG which is set in a futuristic galaxy. The main focus of the game is open-ended space travel with combat, territorial control, trade, and politics. In the beginning of the game, you create your character, choosing one of the available empires and races (EVE has no classes, anyone can learn any skill), and customizing the way the character looks. Then you are given a space ship with which you can begin the exploration of the game world. One of your main goals in the game will be to upgrade your ship in order to be able to defeat space pirates and other players. Most items in the galaxy are player-made, and there is a robust economy. With the money you obtain from mining, exterminating NPCs, or cunning market trading you can also increase your character's skills (for example, Mining, Survey, Refining, Drone operation, weapons skills, and many, many others). Unlike most other RPGs, leveling up does not depend on the amount of foes you have defeated, but requires you to train for a time period dependent on your stats. Training continues even while logged off.

El argumento ficticio que sirve de historia de fondo a EVE Online se desarrolla miles de años en el futuro y explica que la humanidad, al agotar casi la totalidad de los recursos naturales de la Tierra, se vio forzada a colonizar la Vía Láctea para sobrevivir. Los sistemas con planetas habitables fueron siendo ocupados uno a uno y cuando ya no hubo espacio la guerra estalló. Repentinamente, un día, fue descubierto un agujero de gusano (wormhole) que surgió en forma natural. Los primeros en atravesarlo se encontraron en un sistema inexplorado, al que llamaron New Eden (Nuevo Edén). Pronto, los colonizadores atravesaron el agujero de gusano para "colonizar" ese remoto lugar en un universo virgen. Cuando el agujero de gusano finalmente colapsó, el desastroso cataclismo alcanzó a los colonizadores --que quedaron repentinamente sin los suministros básicos--, y los condujo a una Edad tecnológica Oscura. Muchas colonias perecieron completamente, sin embargo algunas sobrevivieron. Solo se conocen cinco culturas que pudieron reconstruir el universo como lo conocían. " Calling EVE Online epic doesn’t really do it justice. This long-running MMO contains thousands of star systems you can explore at your leisure (unless space pirates show up and blast you to oblivion).
