Words like edgy, alternative, and avant-garde seem pretty lame in describing Tim and Eric. Let's just say it will make your bub-bubs bounce. This penultimate season of the off-off-center Adult Swim series with the public access aesthetic delivers more bracing 10-ish-minute blasts of surreal silliness. Each fleeting episode is brimming with WTโฆHeck moments that defy categorization. Is Tim and Eric for you? Depends. Does the name Tommy Wissou mean anything to you? If so, then the episode in which the auteur behind the cult fave The Room guest stars to direct an ill-fated Pig-Man sketch will be a Very Special Episode indeed

Lending their estimable comic cred to this season are John C. Reilly, Fred Willard, Will Forte, Jonah Hill, Kids in the Haller Scott Thompson, Allan Thicke, and, um, Frank Stallone. Great job in compiling the extras, which include the expected deleted scenes and bloopers as well as the unexpected; footage from Awesomecom 2009; a live version of the song "Brownie Mountain"; a featurette about the creation of the dummy that takes a licking in the "Road Trip" episode; and the self-explanatory "Restaurant Fart." --Donald Liebenson
