Buck Taylor is an American actor. He is best known for his role as gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brien in the CBS's television series "Gunsmoke" (1967–1975). In 1964,, he starred with Melinda Plowman, John Hoyt and Miriam Hopkins in an episode of the science fiction television series "The Outer Limits" titled, "Don’t Open Till Doomsday". He also served in the United States Navy.
