Buck Henry was an American actor, comedian and filmmaker known for writing "The Graduate" (1967) and "What's Up, Doc?" (1972), co-directing "Heaven Can Wait" (1978) with Warren Beatty, and co-creating "Get Smart" (1965โ€“1970) with Mel Brooks. Henry was also nominated at the Academy Awards for writing "The Graduate" and directing "Heaven Can Wait". He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a helicopter mechanic and toured with the Seventh Army Repertory Company in the Special Services division.
