Description: Bridget Barkan is a true artist. Born and raised in New York City, her raw, vibrant talent and soulful vintage sound pulsates in every story and song she shares. Her music is honest, emotional and universal, singing of new love, lost love, love for self and love for the world. Bridget is currently performing worldwide with internationally known glam/pop band Scissor Sisters who toured with Lady Gaga. Bridget is currently performing worldwide with internationally known glam/pop band Scissor Sisters who toured with Lady Gaga.  This redhead siren’s old school, bluesy sarcasm fills the room with laughter as her search for meaning and wisdom can bring the crowd to tears. Awakening the people with her social commentary, unique lyrical and sometimes humorous concepts, melodic improvisation and powerfully entertaining performances, Bridget is a force of passion with her fierce full band or just her acoustic guitar.

 As a child actress, her freckle face appeared in several commercials and Sesame Street. More recently, she starred in various Law and Order episodes, the HBO film "Everyday People," co-starred with Maggie Gyllenhaal in "SherryBaby,” appeared in the controversial war film “Redacted” directed by Brian De Palma and performed in one of the earliest productions of the Broadway hit "Spring Awakening.”

Before touring with Scissor Sisters, Bridget was a music therapist working with autistic and special needs children. She states they were her “greatest inspiration.” As music brought language, joy and learning to the children, it brought her healing and inspiration to share with the rest of the world. When Bridget isn’t on stage with Scissor Sisters she continues to spread her message of peace, love and unity.

The creation of “Dear Stranger” began with a woman and her guitar, brought to life with the dynamic arrangements and production of her collaborative team, Patrick Pelissier and Don Martin of Codastar Productions.
