An Anglo-Saxon Masterpiece

13 years, 4 months ago at Dec 31 1:42
BEOWULF is a fantastic poem and Heaney's translation is superb. The language is elegant, though not unwieldy, and the narrative is exhilarating, filled with perilous creatures and mortal combat. I recommend it to anyone interested in fantasy, poetry, or Anglo-Saxon culture. Few tales have been more influential to English literature than this one.
