Zane was born and raised in New York City and at the age of 8 he began to work on CBS's Dave's World. During the 4 years of filming, He lived bi-coastally between Manhattan and Los Angeles and when the show ended its run in 1997 the whole family decided to stay in Los Angeles. During this time, Zane continued to pursue a career as an actor while also showing an interest in the guitar. As His desire to act waned, he began to put more effort and time into the jazz bands at school, and eventually decided to stop acting altogether to pursue this new dream.
