Yasmine Al Massri's latest achievement in 2010 is 'Miral', directed by Julian Schnabel, alongside stars Hiam Abbas, Frieda Pinto, Ruba Bilal, William Dafoe, and Alexander Siddig. The film is an adaptation of an autobiography written by Palestinian Journalist and Novelist Roula Jebreal.

Al Massri's big break as an actress was on the Lebanese award-winning film 'Caramel' directed by Nadine Labaki which received international success following critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival 2007. After four small projects, she was cast in the award-winning and Oscar nominated French short 'Manon Sur Le Bitume' with Elizabeth Marre and Olivier Pont.

In 2008, her next award-winning feature, shot in the Algerian desert land 'Ayrouwen', directed by Ibrahim Tsaki, enabled her to learn an entirely new language for the role, that of the 'Touareg' or the Blue men. In the same year Palestinian director Najwa al Najjar offered Yasmine the lead role in the award winning 'Pomegranates And Myrrh', alongside Hiam Abbass and Ali Suliman. It received its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, 2009.

she got the chance to follow an extensive training workshop in Musical Theatre with Peter Knopp in the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Soon after she was asked to hold an educational workshop called 'Feel, Think... React' about performance, identity and dance at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival and Film Institute.

Her promising career in the arts began in 2000 with dancing when she joined the well-respected Thouraya Baghdadi's company in Paris. Inspired by the choreography of Salvador Vargas, Mohamad Haydar, Patricio Martin, Hasan Ghorbieh and Nina Dipla, she explored classical and innovative ways of performing Arab repertoire and learnt from various cultural movements including Flamenco, Salsa and African dance until she found her own way of expressing herself through modern dance.

This gave birth to her experimental dance videos 'In Between' and 'BOUM...TAC' that were projected in various Art and Cinema festivals around the world including Centre George Pompidou in Paris, Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece, Née a Beyrouth In Lebanon, Festival La Rochelle and Côté court Film Festival in France. Her latest work 'Le Patient Et Le Client' screened at the Festival Coté Court in Paris.

A truly diverse and passionate multi-faceted artist, she is driven by high quality projects that represent her generation's vision of today's reality, those that retrace history, values and tradition of the society she has come from in order to re-create the uncertain future.

This Year, She collaborated also with Lebanese director Nour Wazzi in London on the short 'Habibti' with Hiam Abbass and British actor Jimmy Akingbola. She is also attached for the feature version, and she playes the lead role in 'The Last Friday' with Director Yehya Al Abdallah, next to Ali Suliman, the movie is expected to be released at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival ...
