When I was 14 years old, I was a scrawny little runt that weighed no more than 115lbs standing at close to 5'9. I was repeatedly made fun of by my peers for having a "chicken chest". My father gave me an old rusted up curling bar which I spent countless evenings curling and pressing over my head. I graduated enough courage to start staying after school and working out with the "big kids". I started to see some progress with a nice size marble for a bicep when a day came in school where we were allowed to wear "cut off" t-shirts for Spirit Week. This was a week spent at school for each grade to participate in random activities that scored you "spirit points". So, here I am sitting next to a girl whom I had the biggest crush on and I thought my marble-looking bicep was big enough to flex while sitting next to her. You know, the kind of tensed up arm where both elbows are resting on the desk. When suddenly, she yells... "Xavier!! Oh My God, you have the skinniest arms I have ever seen!!!" WOW, if ever at a point in my life did I want to dissapear, it was at that very moment. From that day on I trained like an animal and ate even more like a beast! Funny thing is, I saw her a couple years back at a bar and she gained some weight and actually started to talk to me and gave her number. After I got her number I asked, "do you remember me from high school"? She of course says "NO". So I told her the story and her face got beat red. I politely handed her phone number back to her and told her "thank you for giving me the drive to better myself physically, but I had never felt that embarrased and hurt when you said what you said". I gave her a nice smile and walked away feeling like a million bucks! :-)
I do competitively compete in the NPC. I have done a total of 6 shows in the past 3 years and have won my weight class and typically finish in the top 2 or 3. My goal is to win a show come Summer of '09. In that time I will be clean bulking and plan to compete at 198lbs in the light heavyweight class and ROCK THE STAGE! I have done all my own diets for pre-season and offseason and am always willing to help others achieve their goals. This sport is my number 1 passion and I hope you all stick around and watch me move up in ranks! It's going to be a fun ride!! Thanks for checking me out and I appreciate everyone's support!
