Wally Pfister is an American director and retired cinematographer best known for his collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Pfister's credits as director of photography include "Memento" (2000), "Insomnia" (2002), "The Dark Knight Trilogy" (2005–2012), "The Prestige" (2006), "Moneyball" (2011) and "Inception" (2010), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography. In 2014, Pfister made his directorial debut with the sci-fi thriller film "Transcendence", starring Johnny Depp, which was a critical and box office flop.
