The Seducer of the Fatherland (El seductor de la patria (1999) (2001)

The Seducer of the Fatherland is a novel by the Mexican writer Enrique Serna that reconstructs the figure of the dictator Antonio López de Santa Anna. Published on January 1, 1999 in Mexico under the Planeta DeAgostini publishing label. The title of the novel is a reference to the book Siglo de caudillos by Enrique Krauze, where he titles the chapter dedicated to Antonio López de Santa Anna as "Seductor of the homeland". In 2000, the work was the winner of the Mazatlán Prize for Literature.
