Shy and mesmerizing, Bad Bunny, the most listened to singer on the planet, welcomes us to his Puerto Rico and tells details of his childhood in his family, his relationship with fashion and his love for Brazil, where he performs this month.

The sunset today is not the best, but the driver of the van that picks us up at the airport refuses to let this be our first impression of Puerto Rico. Then he shows photos taken on the beach, on dreamlike days: the crystal blue water and the intense orange sky as protagonists. It also indicates places to go, drinks to try and ways to enjoy (really, not as tourists) the region. The pride of his land pacing the suggestions. When we ask to listen to Puerto Rican songs she likes, she offers us a range of trap and reggaeton singers until she decides to play the island's most famous son: Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, or Bad Bunny – "only" the most listened to artist in the world. She has no idea, but it's because of him that we're there.

Two days later, we met the 31-year-old star on a deserted beach. The wind of a storm approaching from the south is only not more disconcerting than the initial timidity of the meeting. It is Benito who breaks the ice by saying, with a mischievous boyish expression behind his inseparable sunglasses, that he can speak Portuguese – he immediately backtracks and admits that he is joking. "I shouldn't have said that, it's a lie, now you're going to want me to say something [laughs]. But I should learn."
