Since then, Benito has watched the process of gentrification on the island intensify, with residents evicted from their homes to make way for North American developments; the privatizations of the health and electricity system, which result in countless blackouts; tax facilitations for those coming from the United States and the increase in the cost of living for locals. In order to denounce these problems, in 2022, the artist invited journalist Bianca Graulau to report on a 22-minute documentary clip for the song "El Apagón", from the album "Un Verano Sin Ti" (the first album in history to exceed 20 billion listeners on Spotify). The video is about to reach 16 million views.

When he spent much of 2024 away from Puerto Rico, touring with the album "Nadie Sabe Lo que Va a Pasar Mañana" (2023) and then acting in the films "The Crazy Man in Golf 2" and "Thieves" (both released in 2025), Benito formed a new perspective on these facts. One day, strolling secretly around the island, he cried with sadness and frustration when he saw tourists enjoying a carefree beach day without caring about the numerous problems that the locals face. That's how he came up with the idea for the song "Turista". "In my life, you were a tourist. You only saw the best of me and not what I suffered. You went without knowing the reason for my wounds" are the verses that open the track.
