Mr Armani is intrinsically bound to his ancestral home. He was awarded an Honorary Degree in Global Business Management conferred by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in one of the places closest to his heart, Piacenza and in particular in the Municipal Theatre.
“Today we have decided to award the Honorary Degree in Global Business Management to one of the most illustrious sons of the city of Piacenza, who has honored its name throughout the world.” Franco Anelli, Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
This bond with the theatre stems from his grandfather’s profession of providing wigs for the plays, which led young Mr Armani to spend much of his childhood there, fuelling his passion for the arts.
Piacenza signed Mr Armani in terms of his educational path too. He went to the Alberoni elementary school and the Respighi high school, both in his native city. On the same day of the presentation of the Honorary Degree, the current principal of Alberoni Elementary School presented him with the original report card from his last year of attendance, adding to the sentimental value of this special day.
