When Stephen Jones was curating his exhibition, ‘Hats: An Anthology,’ L’Wren Scott helped him acquire the iconic hats as seen on Audrey Hepburn in ‘My Fair Lady’ (1964):
“My Fair Lady is perhaps the ultimate hat film. {…} L’Wren Scott said, ‘I know where those hats are, they’re at the Warner Brothers corporate archive.’ When she was working as a stylist for Vanity Fair she discovered the hats in a room somewhere. She knew the President of Warner Bothers and told him he had all these incredible things.” — Stephen Jones, The Telegraph (2009)
They later collaborated on a ‘My Fair Lady’ inspired look for Nicole Kidman, which she wore to Australia’s Derby Day in 2012. Stephen Jones and L’Wren Scott met in the 1980s and quickly became friends and colleagues, working together countless times throughout her career. He often designed the hats for her shows and they frequently collaborated on other special projects.
