L’Wren Scott’s ‘Parisian Perch’ (second photo a scan from the archive) — photographed by François Halard & words by Sarah Mower for Vogue (2012)
“She has come to rest for a minute on a low, curved sofa covered in cream bouclé tweed, a forties find that, fabric-wise, has the air of a vintage Balenciaga suit. It's another of the unobtrusively feminine touches she's added to this environment just as subtly as she might choose a textile or a flank-sculpting seam for a pencil skirt. "I found it in a store on the Rue de Lille. I don't think it's by any particular name," she says of the sofa. "I buy gradually. In Paris, you can either trawl the flea market-when you're young, you have a lot more flea-market time on your hands-or once you’ve been here, you get to know there's this U-shaped trail of antiques places to look at along the Rue de Beaune,
the Rue de Lille and the Rue des Saints-Pères. And then up there are catalogs." Her eyes twinkle as she proffers tea on a Muriel Grateau china set, its pale pink-mauve tint echoing the shade of the walls. "Would you care for a scone? Freshly baked today." — L’Wren Scott as told to Sarah Mower
