L’Wren Scott, Helmut Newton, & June Newton {not pictured} attend a New Year’s Eve party at Helmut Newton’s bungalow. Chateau Marmont, West Hollywood, CA (2000) — Photographed by @herbritts
Newton was one of the first photographers to work with Scott when she began her modeling career in the mid 1980s — he photographed her for Paris Match in Monaco as well as for other personal projects. When she transitioned into her career as a stylist, she would also come to work with him behind the camera.
In an interview with WWD in 2000, L’Wren Scott mentioned her friendship with Newton, “Helmut Newton came to my house recently. He looked around a lot and said, “Mrs Vreeland would be proud.” — Newton & Scott remained close until his untimely & tragic passing in 2004.
