Carlo Ponti, who was born on this day, 11th of December 1912. He was an Italian film producer and important figure in cinematic history. Carlo Ponti promoted Italian cinema along with Dino de Laurentiis, produced the most acclaimed films of 1950s and 1960s. He collaborated with the most important directors, such as, Federico Fellini, Michaelangelo Antonioni, Vittorio de Sica and others. Carlo Ponti produced "La Strada" by Federico Fellini, which received an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. ⁣
