In 2008 L’Wren would be commissioned to create a one of a kind necklace for Nicole Kidman’s Oscar look. She created multiple strands of diamonds that could wrap around in multiple fashions, creating the illusion of one large piece (created by L’Wren Scott in collaboration with Uni Design limited)
—— the strands included 7,645 diamonds which were hand selected & all of different fashions; some were raw cut, some polished, and some were faceted. In total the 7000 + diamonds would come to average in at 1400 carats. The piece took 6000 man hours to create and would average in at a whopping $7 million dollars.
——
These strands of diamonds were worn by L’Wren shortly after Nicole, when she attended the Shine a Light premier in NYC. They were also photographed for Vogue Japan and have since been on display at various exhibits around the world.

This piece is currently the most expensive ever worn on the red carpet.
