I already saw this movie, in fact, I remember it quite well, I even went to see the damned thing in the movie theater when it was released. I was with my sister if I recall it correctly. Back then, I must have been around 14 years old and, since the previous installments had a rather solid reputation, I thought I might as well check this final sequel. Eventually, even at the time, I thought the whole thing was just seriously disappointing. Well, 30 years later, I decided to give it another chance but, unfortunately, it was just as lame as I remembered. This time, for the intro, they made a parody of ‘The Untouchables’ which worked better than what they gave us in the previous movies and I have to admit that to finish up with the Academy Award ceremony was actually not a bad idea. From the whole trilogy, it was still definitely the weirdest one though. First, you had Priscilla Presley, once Elvis young bride, who had so much work done on her face that she started to look more like Michael Jackson than a middle-aged lady pushing 50 years old. Even weirder was the inclusion of the notorious O.J. Simpson and Anna Nicole Smith, 2 ‘actors’ who were more famous for their torturous life than for their actual acting skills. It was always weird to see O.J. in these movies but, in this case, the guy was arrested for double homicide only three months after its release which is beyond surreal. Concerning Anna Nicole Smith, I have to admit that she was actually perfect for this kind of movies, playing some kind of blonde Jessica Rabbit, and you wish that they gave her character some more running time. However, how it all ended with her was such a transphobic joke, I’m not sure if I thought it was funny when I was a kid but, after all these years, it was actually rather appalling. Anyway, to conclude, I didn’t like this flick but I guess it might be worth a look if you are a fan of the genre.
