An average movie

Honestly, I really don't understand why this movie is/was so popular. I mean, I have to admit, I do see the appeal. Indeed, you have Wesley Snipes playing a badass half-vampire with some outfit coming right out of the Matrix kicking some major vampire butts. Still, the only thing I really enjoyed was the first scene with the underground party, but the rest was just a succession of boring fight scenes with a really tedious plot. I know, it is supposed to be one of the better movies involving Wesley Snipes but I really didn't care much about the whole thing. Eventually, in my opinion, the main character was not interesting and the story was not much better either, at least that's my opinion. Historically, it is interesting to point out that it is this movie, and not a big blockbuster like 'X-men' or 'Spider-man' which started the whole super-hero frenzy. Before that, they tried to make many movies in this genre but, except for 'Batman', they all flopped terribly. Anyway, in my opinion, this movie is really overrated and I really didn't like it but, I have to admit, if you're into this kind of things, you may enjoy it more than me though.
