An average movie

Basically, there was a time when I would go to a video game shop (which is now closed) and I would buy there on a regular basis 5 DVDs for 5 euros and, sometimes, since I would be missing 1 DVD, I would pick up pretty much anything at random just to reach 5 movies. Anyway, following this amazing process, I ended up watching some rather obscure movies and this one was definitely one of them. Indeed, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the damned thing but since there was a decent cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, to be honest, it wasn’t really good, I’m afraid. I mean, basically, they tried to make some kind of dark comedy but it never really worked and it was usually more cringe-inducing than really entertaining. I mean, there were some good ideas in this movie but, unfortunately, there was a lot of lame stuff as well. At least, all the actors involved, especially Lisa Kudrow, John Travolta and Tim Roth, they all delivered some decent performance but the story was rather messy. Concerning the Nora Ephron, her following directing effort would be a high-profile adaptation of ‘Bewitched’ but it would turn out to be a huge financial and critical failure. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, even though I have seen worse, it was still a rather weak comedy and I don’t think it is really worth a look.
