A great movie

As a kid, I have seen this movie so many times. It is basically one of those movies that really formed my taste about movies when I was a child, pretty much like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, the dollar trilogy with Clint Eastwood or the kung fu flicks starring Bruce Lee. Indeed, I just loved this flick and it is probably the best French comedy ever made, at least, in my opinion. Back in those days, I think I have seen my share of comedies starring Louis de Funès and even though I thoroughly enjoyed them at such a young age, looking back at them, they were actually pretty lame sometimes. Not this one though. Back then, de Funès was a mega star in France, even when I was a kid, he was still an icon even after his death. Basically, he was a late bloomer but, at some point, he became really successful, making one box-office hit after the other and this movie was his biggest success. Indeed, it is an hilarious tale taking place in WWII and for this movie, de Funès was again working with Bourvil, another icon of the French cinema, and together, they were just hilarious. After all these years, I finally saw the damned thing again and I still loved it, even as a grown-up. To conclude, this movie is a childhood favorite and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in French movies.
