I really love Mansfield Park, as it is the only Austen novel with a timid heroine. I did enjoy this adaptation, but it really should have been so much more. It seemed like we are constantly seeing all the other characters moving the plot forward, but we never really get to know Fanny or all that she has to put up with. I was really looking forward to seeing how they were going to portray her relationship with Mary Crawford, but they barely interact at all. I enjoyed this, but I think it was because I could fill in all the parts that were missing because I have read the book. I wouldn't really recommend this to someone who hasn't.
