An average movie

Basically, it was another really obscure Dutch movie (I was only the 3rd listal member who has rated it) and I wasn’t really expecting much from this flick but since Ben Sombogaart is an interesting director, I thought I might as well give it a try. As I have mentioned in some other of my reviews, those family features are quite popular in the Netherlands but, in my opinion, it is not because they are actually really good. My theory is that since virtually all the foreign movies are subtitled in the Netherlands, the only films Dutch kids are able to see are Dutch, at least, until they are to read the subtitles. Basically, those Dutch family don’t have much competition and if the parents want to take their children to see something, well, they don’t have any choice and that’s how they usually become quite successful. Anyway, by now, you should have guessed, I really don't like them and this one was no exception. I mean, sure, it was really harmless and there is a fair chance that young kids might like it but, personally, I thought it was rather weak and actually seriously boring. To conclude, if you live in the Netherlands and you want to watch something nice with your kids, just pick up a great animated feature made by Pixar instead.
