A good movie

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have been following Ken Loach's work for almost 20 years by now, I was still eager to check it out. Once again, Loach gave us his usual grim vision of the working class in the UK but, as usual, it was always as gripping as it was back then in the 90's. Indeed, instead of glamorizing those characters, you get a much more realistic approach. At least,  this social background was very dark and rather depressing but also quite spellbinding to behold, at least, that’s my opinion. Loach has also a talent to find some raw talents and I thought that Paul Brannigan, in his first role, was really charismactic. Unfortunately, it seems that Ken Loach has turned a little bit soft through the years as here, like in some other of his recent works, he felt that he had to add some humor but that didn’t really work for me. I mean, sure, it was fairly entertaining but so unrealistic and also, somehow rather misguided. Indeed, for those delinquents, apparently, the only way out was to steal something really expensive. To conclude, even though it wasn’t really great, it was still a decent watch and I think it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in Ken Loach's work.
