Review of Revenge of the Green Dragons

I saw a poster for this and was drawn to it by the content and people involved. The director also did two films I had liked called The Storm Riders and Legend of the Fist. Both of which were awesome action flicks. I have to admit though when your biggest name is Ray Liotta you shouldn't be expecting much. It's interesting to see an American crime story from the views of a group other than the usual. The acting here is a bit iffy although it does have it's decent moments. Some of the actors try too hard and others not hard enough. The story itself is actually pretty interesting and keeps you on the edge. The action is one of the things that rises up and it's not even martial arts here which is a good change. It's interesting that most of the time gangs usually only decimate their own people rather than other races which is very interesting and disturbing. I have to say that ending really threw me off and made up for a lot of the movie. I didn't see that coming at all. This wasn't a masterpiece, but in the end even with it's many faults it was actually pretty captivating. To think that this was based on actual events is kind of terrifying and sad. I say give it a shot and watch it until the end.
