'Romeo & Juliet', 'Toy Story', gnomes and unfunny

'Gnomeo & Juliet' is a mixture between 'Romeo & Juliet', Toy Story', gnomes and unfunny jokes. It's not a bad movie but it lacks funny jokes, a gnome in a mankini (inspired by 'Borat') seems unsuitable for children and a fight across a lawn with a £1000 turbo lawnmower!

Where 'Romeo & Juliet' comes in is enemy gnomes (colourism) and a blue gnome (Gnomeo) falling for a red gnome (Juliet) and red gnome Tybalt despising Gnomeo. Where 'Toy Story' comes in is the gnomes come to life when no humans are around. It's not a rip-off of 'Toy Story', it's just a mediocre counterpart!

I liked the scene where Benny dances on a computer purchasing an expensive lawn mower but when Tybalt dies crashing into a wall, at the end of the movie, he comes back having been put back together (somehow)!

This is a British animated movie and a wasted opportunity to make a rare good one like 'Wallace & Gromit', 'Chicken Run', 'Corpse Bride' or 'Fantastic Mr Fox'. This just isn't funny enough.
