A great classic

In France, it is a huge classic and I definitely had to watch it at some point. Concerning the director, even though Bertrand Blier never really reached much recognition on an international level, he is definitely highly regarded in France where many of his movies have been some massive commercial or critical successes. Anyway, this flick was the start of a great career for Gérard Depardieu who would become an icone in French cinema for the following 40 years. And indeed, Depardieu and Dewaere were both awesome in this flick which was often quite hilarious. When I’m watching a movie like this one, it reminds me of the fact that in France it is possible to release a movie litterally called ‘The Testicles’ and you won’t get censored in any way. Anyway, I think it is a great movie which was also a lot of fun to watch. I mean, the whole thing was pretty chaotic and there was barely any plot, instead you get on this rather wild road trip with those misfits and I thought it was quite spellbinding to watch. To conclude, it is a classic and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in French movies.
