An average movie

When I was a kid, I was a huge fan of Jean-Claude Van Damme and I saw all the movies he made at the beginning of his career. Eventually, at around 14 years old, I started to get interested in other kind of movies and I discovered that his movies were not so good after all. However, afterwards, he did make a few movies that seemed to be decent, like this one, so I was really eager to check it out. In fact, a year before, Jean-Claude Van Damme already worked with Peter Hyams for ‘Timecop’ which turned out to be his biggest box-office success but I thought it was in fact terribly disappointing. Well, even though this follow-up was apparently a box-office flop when it was released, it turned out to be one of my favorite movies starring  Van Damme ('Bloodsport’ remains on the 1st spot). I mean, sure the whole thing was basically a complete rip-off of 'Die Hard' but, I thought it was actually rather well done and for once I thought that JCVD was quite convincing. To conclude, it is definitely not a masterpiece whatsoever but if you look for some brainless entertainment, I think it is worth a look.
