Quebec's "Fast and Furious"

A car race gone wrong, Mad Max ends up in a hospital, where he meets Alice, who has a fragile heart, and recently gave birth to Theo. Nine years later, Julien (aka Mad Max), Alice and Theo are a family, although Alice is now in the hospital awaiting a heart transplant. Julien promises Theo that he will save her life, and will do anything to find an organ donor, even if it means killing a man.

Lemay-Thivierge (Max/Julien) is an excellent actor here, as is Lucie Laurier. They make a fantastic team. Martin Matte, a comedian, is a pleasant discovery as an actor.

The script, of course, doesn’t hold in place, but then again, neither did The Fast and The Furious! Speaking of which, NITRO covers the same grounds (car racing), in a different setting: Montreal and the South Shore.

Still, this is a fun action-filled, entertaining movie for guys *and* gals, to watch.
