Review of April Apocalypse

When I watched the trailer for this I was thinking this was similar to Shaun of the Dead and Warm Bodies. I was surprised to see a good amount of the actors were familiar names like George Lopez, Sarah Hyland, and Mark Rolston. I love me some zombie films so I hope with the cast and the cute story doesn't fail at entertaining my love of the genre. I love the idea of mixing genres like road trip, zombies, and coming of age. They spend a little too much time establishing the story before we see the first zombie which was kind of disappointing. This movie isn't a very long one so having the zombies show up sooner would have been better. The church scene was pretty funny and different. I love how at times it is completely unpredictable, although sometimes you could see what was coming from a mile away. . The ending was incredible and made my jaw hit the floor. What a great little hidden gem of a zombie movie. I really liked it especially due to the ending. I think it could have been a little bit longer and gave some of the characters some more screen time. I recommend it for any fans of the zombie genre.
